In my last Journal post I mentioned that I was taking part in an Original Character Tournament called Safe-by-Sunset.

I recently finished my round 1 submission and a preview of this can be found here:

Like I have said in this preview submission, I intend to post irregular updates regarding SbS as soon as each chapter is completed. The main hub for Safe-by-Sunset can only be found on DeviantArt as of this writing.

The entirety of the SbS comic, as well as submissions by the other competitors can be found on DeviantArt.

As for other projects, I intend to produce some sporadic art throughout the rest of the month. The Second round of SbS is likely to begin in May, so this leaves a lot of time for me to be productive in other areas.

in the upcoming months. I have some fun ideas of things I want to draw for May.

I'm also considering starting work on some game projects, since that's what my education was building towards before Covid lockdowns MURDERED my enthusiasm. Ill try to produce some prototypes for game ideas I've had. No idea how well that's going to go, but I need to start at some point.

Mentally I guess I've been doing better. Now that the task of producing a seven page comic is off my chest I suppose I have no excuse to not try and improve my well-being. The year is still long, and I don't know what the future holds for me.

Maybe things will be better this time...

Ok so between not getting apprenticeships because a record sheet breaking down all my GCSE grades "Isn't enough" and trying not to go insane, I've been working on some personal projects.

I'm very happy with how this Mae sketch sheet turned out, it kinda ballooned from my original intention of a single sketch. Might do another Mae/ NITW illustration when May comes around.

BUT THE MAIN THING is that I'm taking part in an Original character Tournament on Deviantart called Safe-by-Sunset. It's sort of a Wind in the Willows meets The Impossible story about a group of critters surviving an oncoming disaster.

It has meant that I've been able to be a bit more productive, albeit with some procrastination problems. Personally I've been taking care of myself. Been working on a huge reference for my OC, might post that here or keep it private for future use IDK not sure atm.

On a more upbeat note, I feel quite proud of my latest work, I have an idea of another She-Ra and another Gravity Falls piece that I want to get done, admittedly I want to get my OC reference and some Uni work done first. So that's been on my mind a lot lately.

I've been saddened to learn that Tim Brooke-Taylor, one third of the Goodies comedy troupe has died from Coronavirus. If you've never seen the Goodies, then I highly recommend checking them out. And if the name doesn't ring a bell then you may be more familiar with his memorable cameo from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory:

A lot of it is sketch stuff, I don't think that's best suited for NG, but still, the last She-Ra and Gravity Falls bits I did? Pretty happy with how those turned out.

Okay so I have been working on some Art stuff, but it's all sketch related and I don't think that sort of thing is best suited for Newgrounds, this place is more a digital-coloured art place, yanno?

SO, my plan is to get at least one new digital drawing done before the decade is out. I know this is thirlling news to the .0000000000000000001% of people on this site. But I digress.

Also played Ion Fury. It was good. Dusk is way better.

Welp, so much for developing more art for this year.
